Jeremiah Barber is a visual artist whose work examines how we see ourselves, and how we see and are seen by our natural environment. In sculpture, video, and performance, Barber’s work explores gaps in our own senses alongside plant and animal adaptations that are beyond our comprehension.
Barber has exhibited nationally and internationally including at the Headlands Center for the Arts in Sausalito, CA, and The LAB in San Francisco. Barber received a Master’s Degree in Fine Art from Stanford University and teaches sculpture at the University of California, Davis.
In addition to his work as a solo artist, Barber collaborates as a member of 100 Days Action, which produces projects at the intersection of art, activism, and social engagement. Their project “The People’s Oval Office” has toured northern California in partnership with the nonprofit Mi Familia Vota. 100 Days has created sites of engagement at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts and California College of the Arts, and in 2017 was named one of the YBCA 100.
