Born and raised in San Francisco’s Bayview neighborhood, Faheem Carter has experience working with many local gardening organizations and is an active member of the Native Garden Project and the Florence Fang Asian Community Garden Carter. He is pursuing a career in horticulture at City College of San Francisco and will soon be attending San Francisco State University. He is passionate about healthy eating, well-being and outdoor activities, and has worked with and mentored pre-teen youth. In his spare time, he enjoys going on hikes with his dog, cooking vegetables from his garden, and reading autobiographies.
For his residency at Recology, Carter is removing large patches of invasive ivy and replacing them with native grasses and flowers.
