FREE BULKY ITEM RECYCLING (BIR) Once you’ve scheduled a pickup, please place all items next to the curb in front of your residence (take care not to block the sidewalk), and attach a sign that reads BIR (Bulky Item Recycling). This program does not accept hazardous waste, construction, and demolition debris, or auto parts and tires. Inside collection services are available for an extra charge (to cover labor – please call estimates). Schedule a collection by using our web form, or emailing customerservice@recologysf.com. |

Audits and Consultations
Our Waste Zero Team helps properties apply best management practices in collecting recycling, compost, and trash materials. We provide a single point of contact to help improve your existing recycling program, provide resources, and suggest service changes to maximize the landfill diversion discount.
Depending on your needs the Waste Zero Team will provide the following complimentary:
- Conduct an onsite visit and provide site-specific recommendations to help your building meet San Francisco’s zero waste goals
- Conduct audits of your waste stream to optimize service
- Customize your service options and equipment to meet your needs
- Provide signs, fliers, stickers, and training (multilingual available)
Become a Zero Waste Champion For Your Building!
Volunteers play an important role in helping the City of San Francisco and Recology meet waste reduction goals. Recology and the San Francisco Department of the Environment are excited to introduce a new volunteer role called Waste Zero Champions, to help apartment dwellers succeed at recycling and composting.
