Once per calendar year, Des Moines residential customers may request a free “Curbside Clean-Up” of up to one cubic yard of extra garbage, plus two non-appliance bulky items such as couches or large chairs. Bagged garbage or individual items must be smaller than 3ft x 3ft x 3ft or weigh less than 65 lbs. Collection of larger Bulky Items (3ft x 3ft x 3ft or greater than 65 lbs) may be arranged for a fee as noted above (after the two non-appliance bulky item limit is exceeded).
Recycling
Des Moines residential garbage service includes recycling collection service at no additional charge. Your recycling cart will be emptied every other week on your garbage collection day.
